ABOUT

At Globally Rooted, we celebrate creative and cultural heritage around the world. We explore global culture through the lens of home, garden, nature, food and traditions.

We believe that every place in the world holds a story waiting to be told—a story of home, where personal narratives intertwine with cultural heritage; a story of how nature in diverse landscapes inspires harmony and connection to place; a story of food, where recipes passed down through generations are honored in shared moments around the kitchen table; and a story of traditions - the customs and celebrations that bind families and communities together.

The Globally Rooted Magazine is published biannually online and features thoughtful personal essays, stunning photo essays, poetry, profiles and articles from around the world. We are particularly interested in voices and contributions from places that are not usually featured in mainstream media. With each publication, we aim to inspire readers to discover living cultures and find beauty in the shared human experience of home and heritage.

We invite you to celebrate what it means to be globally rooted— citizens of the world, rooted in tradition, nourished by culture, and inspired by the endless possibilities of global living. Join us as we journey across continents, from the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean to the misty valleys of the Himalayas, from the bustling streets of Nairobi to the serene countryside of New Zealand.

Lynette Sifiso is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Globally Rooted.
